About Yardly Lawn Care
One crew, one number, flat prices by lawn size. Here is who shows up and how the season goes.
Who we are
Yardly is the lawn-care arm of ALTERBUILD, a Halifax home-services business, and sister to Halifax TV Mounting. Same people, a different trailer. We have been doing yards for ALTERBUILD customers for years as part of everything else; in 2027 lawn care gets its own name, its own number and a public price list.
The reason is simple. Most people who called did not want "a landscaper". They wanted the lawn cut every week by someone who shows up, the leaves gone before the snow, and the driveway clear before work, without chasing anyone. So that is the whole offer: four seasons, one crew, prices you can read before you call.
How a season goes
- You tell us the address. By calculator, text, WhatsApp or phone. We measure the grass on the property map and reply with the size and the price.
- You get a weekday. It is yours for the season. We text the evening before the first visit and when we are on the way.
- Spring cleanup first, if you booked it or you are on the plan: the winter mess out, beds edged, first cut.
- Weekly mowing from May. Cut at 3 to 3.5 inches, trimmed, edged, blown off, gates closed, photo by text.
- Fall cleanup in two visits, so the last leaves are gone before the snow and the lawn goes into winter short.
- Snow from December for Everything-plan and snow-contract customers: driveway, walkway and steps after every 5 cm.
- You pay after each visit, or once a month on a plan. No deposit, ever.
What is on the trailer
A commercial walk-behind mower and a 21-inch push mower for the gates it will not fit through, string trimmer, a proper edger, backpack blower, core aerator, broadcast spreader, hedge trimmers, rakes, tarps and bags, and in winter a two-stage snow blower and shovels. Blades are sharpened on a schedule. We do not run a ride-on through a residential gate or a skid-steer down a residential driveway.
What we say no to
- Cosmetic pesticides and weed sprays. Nova Scotia restricts them on lawns, and thick grass does the job better anyway.
- Cutting a lawn that is too wet. It ruts, it clumps, and you pay for a lawn that looks worse. We come back the next dry day.
- Quoting a lawn over 10,000 square feet without looking at the property map first.
- Tree work, roofs, gutters and anything that needs a ladder. We know people who do those; ask.
Why the prices are public
A lawn is a predictable job. The grass area decides the price, and you can measure it from your couch with Google Maps. Hiding the number behind "request a quote" only wastes your week. The full price list and the calculator are on the main page, and the number you see there is the number on the invoice.
What you can hold us to
Same crew every visit, edges every visit, a rain day moved to the next dry day, a photo when we leave, and if a visit is not right, we come back within 48 hours free. All of it is written out on the promises page.
