Monthly Yard Care Plans in Halifax: Lawn, Lawn + Seasons, Everything
Updated: November 2026
Yardly's monthly plans in Halifax are 12 equal payments for the services you pick. Lawn ($99 small, $129 medium, $169 large a month) is 22 weekly cuts with edges and blow-off. Lawn + Seasons ($149 / $199 / $269) adds the spring cleanup, two fall cleanups and the four-visit fertilizer program. Everything ($209 / $259 / $329) adds the driveway, walkway and steps cleared after every snowfall of 5 cm or more. The total is the same as booking each service on its own; nothing is added for paying monthly. Price fixed for the year, pause or cancel with 30 days' notice. Before HST.
What is in each plan
| Plan | What is inside | Small | Medium | Large | Extra large |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lawn | 22 weekly cuts, edges and blow-off, May to October | $99 | $129 | $169 | from $219 |
| Lawn + Seasons | adds the spring cleanup, two fall cleanups and the four-visit fertilizer program | $149 | $199 | $269 | from $349 |
| Everything | adds the driveway, walkway and steps cleared after every snowfall of 5 cm or more | $209 | $259 | $329 | from $429 |
Per month, 12 equal payments, before HST. Snow prices assume a driveway up to two cars wide; wider driveways are quoted. $259 a month is $295.26 with HST.
The same total, spread out
A plan is not a discount and not a markup. Each monthly price is the per-visit total of what the plan contains, divided by 12 and rounded to the dollar. For a medium lawn:
| Plan | Booked one service at a time | 12 monthly payments | Per year on the plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lawn | $1,540 | 12 × $129 | $1,548 |
| Lawn + Seasons | $2,397 | 12 × $199 | $2,388 |
| Everything | $3,146 | 12 × $259 | $3,108 |
What you get for the same money: one number a month instead of a July full of invoices, your weekday held for the season, your spot on the snow route held for the winter, the fertilizer applications timed by us, and nothing to remember.
Month by month
| Month | What happens |
|---|---|
| April | Spring cleanup: winter debris and leaves out, bed edges re-cut, first cut, everything hauled away. Lawn + Seasons and Everything. |
| May | Weekly mowing starts. Cut, trim, edge, blow-off, same weekday every week. First fertilizer application on Lawn + Seasons and Everything. |
| June | Weekly mowing. Second fertilizer application. Peak growth, the week we never skip. |
| July | Weekly mowing, cut a notch higher for the dry weeks. Watering advice by text if the lawn needs it. |
| August | Weekly mowing. Third fertilizer application. Edges re-cut where they have crept. |
| September | Weekly mowing. Best month for aeration and seed if you add them. |
| October | Last weekly cuts, fourth fertilizer application, then the first fall cleanup in the last week. |
| November | Second fall cleanup: remaining leaves, final short cut, beds cut back. Snow gear goes in the truck. |
| December to March | Everything plan: driveway, walkway and front steps cleared after every snowfall of 5 cm or more. We start as soon as the snow stops. |
Snow clearing: exactly what we promise
- Trigger: every snowfall of 5 cm or more, measured at your place, not at the airport.
- When: we start as soon as the snow stops. Overnight storms are cleared before the morning as far as the route allows; your spot on the route is fixed, like your mowing day.
- What: the driveway up to two cars wide, the walkway to the front door and the front steps. The plow ridge at the end of the driveway is included, every time the city truck comes by.
- How: snow blower and shovel. No skid-steer in a residential driveway, so the lawn edges and the pavers survive the winter.
- On request: ice melt on the steps and walkway, a second car space, a path to the oil fill or the bins.
- Not included: roofs, decks, the back yard, and the city sidewalk, which HRM clears.
Snow clearing is also sold on its own as a season contract, December 1 to March 31: $649 for a one-car driveway, $749 for two cars, from $949 for three or more. Same trigger, same crew.
Terms, in plain English
- 12 monthly payments, billed on the 1st by card or e-Transfer. The first month is billed when the plan starts, whatever the season.
- Price fixed for the 12 months. Changes for the next year come in writing a month before renewal.
- Pause or cancel with 30 days' notice. You pay for the months you had.
- Rain, drought and early snow move visits, they do not remove them. A mowing week lost to a wet spell is made up the next dry day; a mowing week lost because the grass did not grow is skipped and the price does not change.
- The Tidy-Lawn Promise applies to every visit: not happy, text a photo within 24 hours, we come back within 48.
Which plan is for whom
Lawn is for the house that only wants the grass cut and the edges clean, without a bill every week. Lawn + Seasons is for anyone who has ever meant to do the spring cleanup and found it was June; it is the plan most people pick. Everything is for people who travel, work shifts, have small kids or a bad back, and want the driveway clear before work without owning a shovel. It is also the only way to have the snow crew and the mowing crew be the same people who know where your pavers and sprinkler heads are.
If you only need mowing for a few weeks, book it per visit with no contract. If you only need a cleanup, book the spring or fall one on its own.
Questions about the plans
Why pay 12 months for a lawn that grows six?
Because the total is the same and the bill is smaller. A medium lawn on the Lawn plan is $1,540 either way: $70 times 22 visits, or 12 payments of $129. The plan just turns a July full of invoices into one number every month, and holds your weekday for the season.
What if it barely snows?
The Everything price is the same. Some winters we come six times, some fifteen; it evens out over the years, and you are paying for the certainty that the driveway is clear before you need the car, not per shovel.
Can I cancel?
Pause or cancel with 30 days' notice, by text. You pay for the months you had, nothing after. If the plan has delivered more than you paid for by then, for example a spring cleanup in month one, the difference is on the last invoice at the per-visit prices; we tell you the number before you decide.
Can I move between plans?
Yes, from the next month, by text. Most people start on Lawn in May and move to Everything in November when the first snow forecast comes in.
Does the price change next year?
The price is fixed for the 12 months you sign up for. If prices change for the next season, you hear in writing a month before the renewal and can stop then.
What is not in the plans?
Hedge trimming, core aeration, overseeding and bed work are add-ons at the usual prices, booked by text. Ice melt on the steps is on request. Roofs, gutters, tree work and anything with a ladder are not ours.
