Yardly Lawn Care / Service area

Where Yardly works in HRM

All of Halifax Regional Municipality, no travel fee. Here is what we usually find in each part of it, and what size your lawn is likely to be.

Weekly routes run by area, so your mowing day depends on where you live and stays the same all season. The price is by grass area, and the grass area mostly follows the neighbourhood, so the notes below are a good first guess. We confirm from the property map before the first visit.

Halifax Peninsula

South End, North End, West End, Hydrostone, Quinpool. Small lots, mature hedges, narrow side gates and a sidewalk edge that shows every missed week. Almost always a small lawn, $55 a visit. A push mower fits where nothing else will, and the sidewalk and driveway edges get done every visit. Street parking is tight, so a loading zone or your driveway for ten minutes helps.

Mainland Halifax

Clayton Park, Fairview, Rockingham, Armdale, Spryfield, Herring Cove, Timberlea, Beechville, Tantallon. Clayton Park and Fairview are mostly medium lawns, $70, often sloped at the front with a retaining wall to trim along. Spryfield and Herring Cove run small to medium with a lot of ledge and moss. Timberlea and Tantallon lots are usually large, $95, wooded, with needles and a long driveway to clear in winter.

Dartmouth and Cole Harbour

Downtown Dartmouth, Woodside, Woodlawn, Portland Hills, Westphal, Cole Harbour, Eastern Passage, Cherry Brook. Older Dartmouth near the ferry is small, $55, with the same hedges and tight gates as the peninsula. Woodlawn, Portland Hills and Cole Harbour are the classic medium lawn, $70: a front, a back, a driveway edge and a maple that drops everything in one week of October.

Bedford, Sackville and the north

Bedford, Larry Uteck, Hammonds Plains, Kingswood, Lower Sackville, Middle Sackville, Fall River, Waverley, Windsor Junction. Bedford and Sackville are mostly medium, $70, with the newer Larry Uteck streets on the small side. Hammonds Plains, Kingswood and Fall River are large, $95 or extra large: wooded acreage lots, moss in the shade, a long driveway, and the biggest spring cleanups in HRM. This is also our home base, so the route starts here.

Condos and townhouses

A front strip and a shared side yard is a small lawn, $55, often every two weeks. We can quote a whole row of units or a small strata as one job; text us the address and the number of units.

Outside HRM

Chester, Windsor, Elmsdale, Enfield and the South Shore: text us the address. Weekly mowing outside the routes is hard to make work, but cleanups, aeration and snow often are, with a small travel fee quoted up front.
